As a Pastry Cook 1 Supervisor at The Beverly Hills Hotel, your compensation will be $28.30 per hour.

A day in the life of our Pastry 1 Cook Supervisor … it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our  Pastry 1 Cook Supervisor accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know. 

 

• Our Pastry 1 Cook Supervisors are responsible for preparing breads and pastries, including preparing dough and fillings, proofing, baking and decorating as appropriate.

 

• Review production sheets to understand variety of baked goods to be produced daily.

 

• Prepare and cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists.

 

• Our Pastry Cook 1 supervisor will be fully in charge or production ordering and managing amenity needs.

 

• Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance internally and with the State including personal hygiene

 

• Keep management informed of excess food items that need to be utilized. Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked goods.

 

• Check to ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to management.

 

• Ensures all employees are trained in their job functions including new procedures and techniques. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned. Communicates by various means in a professional means to all employees in the department.

 

• Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift.  Ensure implementation of standards set by the Pastry Chef on food quality preparation and presentation.

 

• Sometimes our guests have special requests involving food allergies, dietary restrictions and  special occasions. Most of these requests are fulfilled by our Pastry 1 Cook Supervisor. 

 

• Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our Pastry 1 Cook Supervisor are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct. 

 

• Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Pastry 1 Cook Supervisor must communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure the alignment remains.

 

The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, our Pastry 1 Cook Supervisor are provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to  talk, and hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours.  Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
