Position Overview

The primary function of the Storeroom  Manager is to assume the following job responsibilities: Responsible For All  Food & Beverage procurement for the entire hotel. Responsible for the Food & Beverage storerooms, ensuring organization and cleanliness that conforms to Health Department standards. Assist with coordinating monthly and yearly inventories. Responsible for the general operation and up-keep of the loading dock. The Storeroom Manager is responsible for the duties of a receiving clerk and food & beverage clerk, as outlined in the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Procure all Food & Beverage requirements using a computerized purchasing system and maintain par stock.
  • Ensure procurement of high quality products that conforms to hotel’s five star standards.
  • Prepare daily market list for banquets and main kitchen requirements for special orders.
  • Responsible for all inventories in coordination with Accounting and F&B personnel.  Take monthly food and beverage inventories.
  • Establish Par stock in the food storeroom in accordance to the chef’s requirements and non-food items
  • Responsible for batching invoices using RedRock.  PO price must match invoice price at all times.
  • Supervise all Storeroom and Receiving staff and maintain staff scheduling.
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage Cost controller to determine daily food cost flash.
  • Able to calculate and determine food & beverage cost.
    Work closely with S Sherman and Associates to reach and maintain targeted vendor participation.
  • Create cross training agenda to enable the rotation of storeroom personnel to cover Receiving, Food Storeroom and Beverage Storeroom. 
  • Attend all BEO meetings to cover all banquet requirements and last minute changes.
  • Occasionally required to go off property to pick-up or deliver items necessary for hotel operation using company vehicle.
  • Ensure interior and exterior of storerooms are maintained to company and Health Department standards.
  • Enforce all hotel policies pertaining to the Food and Beverage storerooms.
  • Ensure employee awareness of safety and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct daily line-up with all storeroom personnel.
  • Create SOPs for the Storerooms and Loading dock operation and processes.
  • Responsible for the general organization, cleanliness and staffing of the loading dock.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employee is required to be able to lift 40 lbs at one time to store delivered items.  Should be able to operate a handheld and a desktop computer.  Should have corrected vision.  Would be expected to be on their feet most of the day, includes pulling of carts and pallet jacks for delivering and storing.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; extended periods of time viewing computer monitor; exposure to outside elements and varying temperatures from the loading dock area.

 

 
 

 

Qualifications and Desirables

EDUCATIONAL AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

High School Diploma or higher education a plus.
Must have (1) one to (2) two years related work experience, preferably in the hotel industry.
Must have basic office equipment knowledge, including computer use, faxes and telephone system.
Ability to maintain a proper and professional filing system.

Computer literacy:

Experience with purchasing programs such as Great Plains Dynamics, Red Rock and (or) similar programs preferred.  Current versions of Windows, Excel (Spread Sheets), Word Perfect or Word, and email (outlook).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to communicate, read, write, analyze, and interpret English with all levels of management and co-workers.   Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence, procedure manuals, terms and conditions and other forms of documents that might be required by the hotel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Must be alert and with a quick reasoning.  Able to prioritize degree of importance.  Ability to interpret instructions and guidelines set by the hotel’s policies and procedures.
