Position Overview

The primary function of the Pool Attendant is to maintain the cleanliness of the Cabana Cafe and Pool chairs, lounges, cabanas and furniture and amenities.  Provide quality service to ensure positive results reflected in DC core standards, AAA, Forbes standard results and guest Gallup feedback.

Individual needs to have a professional appearance and warm, accommodating confident, enthusiastic, motivating personality and abide by the principles, goals and policies in The Beverly Hills Hotel Pledge.  Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Food & Beverage service and guest relations standards.
  • Follow all policies and procedures noted in employee manual.
    Follow daily assigned employee shift side work
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment to ensure an excellent work relationship with other departments and to ensure the guest expectations.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments and follow through.
  • Direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections where needed.
  • Access and input information into the hotel systems (MICROS, OPERA, HOTSOS) other systems may also be used.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • Remain professional and courteous with demanding guests or situations, in order, to turn them to the positive.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to ensure a rounded guests experience, regardless of occupancy levels and peak times.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of guest and hotel information.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintain excellent guest relations.
  • Ensure that all special guest needs and expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Take orders from guests, input the into hotel POS system and generate guest check.[A1] 
  • Knowledge and ability to use all hotel information systems including
  • MICROS, OPERA, OUTLOOK & HOTSOS.
  • Communicate with Room Service team to ensure that guest requests are delivered correctly and promptly.
  • Make and serve beverages.
  • Present and upkeep hotel amenities for guests.
  • Maintain excellent grooming and dress codes at all times.
  • Maintain departmental supplies and compile requisitions, store, organize and ensure cleanliness. 
  • Awareness of all safety and emergency procedures of the hotel.
  • Thorough conversational knowledge of all aspects of the hotel including history & statistics.
  • Perform lateral service if a guest has an issue that you cannot solve immediately; own the issue and assist the guest and ensure that their issue is resolved.
  • Input and close guest issues and requests into the HOTSOS system. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions The physical ability to stand and or walk continuously.

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to stand for long periods at a time, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to carry and balance pool equipment, umbrellas, push carts and lounge chairs in the course of service.

 

 

Qualifications and Desirables

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma with mathematical emphasis. Experience in a hotel or related field preferred; or College degree a preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write analyze, speak, and interpret English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Accounting background a Must, including basic math skills

REASONING ABILITY:

Must be alert and quick at reasoning.  Ability to interpret instructions and guidelines set by the hotel’s policy and procedures.
