Position Overview

The primary function of the Busperson is to assume the following job responsibilities: Provide our guests with a bespoke and memorable experience measured to the highest standards of food quality and service delivery. Additionally the execution of your position will be in accordance to our company policies, standards and procedure Provide quality service to ensure positive results reflected in  AAA, Forbes standard results and guest comment cards.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

Individual needs to have a professional appearance and warm, accommodating confident, enthusiastic, motivating personality and abide by the principles, goals and policies in The Beverly Hills Hotel  Pledge. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

QUALITY CONTROL:

Highest standards of food product, sanitation, storage, and handling procedures
Food product, presentation, and service standards
 

OPERATIONS:

  • Know all In-House and VIP guests
  • Follow schedule, sidework, and station assignments
    Service details:
  • Tabletop maintenance
  • Stock and maintain cleanliness of service stations to include supplies, condiments, clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, ice
  • Refill waters, iced teas, coffees, etc
  • Bread & butter presentation
  • Respond to guest requests
  • Makes coffee/iced tea
  • Carries dirty dishes and perform scullery (scraping dishes) from dining room to stewarding area
  • Cleans and polishes all service supplies
  • Removes all dirty linen
  • Reset all tables in a timely fashion
  • Problem solving / Troubleshooting
  • Thorough conversational knowledge of hotel history and statistics.
  • Strict adherence to uniform & grooming standards
     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to stand for long periods (more than 8 hours).

 The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

 

 

Qualifications and Desirables

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).  2 years Front of the House Food and Beverage experience in luxury World Class Hotel or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with service team and present specific culinary and wine information to guests.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY:

Absolute Quality Detailed Service ethic.

Well-rounded management and operational troubleshooting and problem solving techniques.

Strong interpersonal staff and guest relations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER

Due to nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotelAbility to cross train in various departments for overall understanding of the operations and provide ultimate guest experience.
