The primary function of the Ultimate Leader Program is to assume the following job responsibilities:  The objective of this role is to deliver the highest quality service.  To continually promote and sell the hotel amenities and services at every opportunity by enlivening our Vision, Values & Mission. Provide quality service to ensure positive results reflected in AAA, Forbes standard results and guest comment cards.

Ultimate Leaders Program Overview and Policy


To develop highly skilled supervisors and assistant managers who have the talent to lead and motivate a team to deliver the ultimate guest experience; to add to our internal talent pipeline of leaders to support the current and future growth of Dorchester Collection via our key school partnerships across the globe.


To provide a personalized learning process that will provide you with a platform to continuously build on your unique talents, develop new skills and have the ultimate experience in our iconic hotels in iconic places.


It is critical that Dorchester Collection attracts, selects and develops best in class leadership talent to support the staffing requirements of each of our hotels.  The Ultimate Leaders Program is a mandatory Program that each hotel will participate in to ensure the Company continues to build its leadership pipeline for the future.

Essential Functions:

  • Comprehension of structure, roles and responsibilities within the departments the participant is leading
  • Knowledge and understanding of departmental operating standards and daily operational requirements
  • Demonstrated competency in creating departmental schedules, managing payroll reporting and forecasting
  • Understand Company performance management procedures and how to apply these effectively in the hotel including:
  • Participation in an employee disciplinary discussion
  • Ability to effectively conduct employee YOUR FUTURE - PDP’s
  • Participation in performance management
  • Demonstrate effective ability with interviewing and selection of candidates
  • Co-ordinate and lead monthly departmental communication meetings
  • Comprehension and demonstrated understanding of department budget, expenses, forecasting, and month end financials
  • Understanding of department purchasing and inventory controls

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

Program Requirements:
The Ultimate Leaders Program must include a minimum of two rotations with the Program ranging between 12-18 months.
Current Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Must be at least 21 years of age prior to the program start date.
Work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Provide own housing and transportation to and from work.
Must possess intermediate knowledge of the following computer software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Ability to deliver exceptional guest service and work independently.
Possess effective decision-making and listening abilities with strong judgment skills.
Excellent organizational skills to function reasonably under time constraints and within established deadlines.
Possess attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, and establish and maintain an effective professional working relationship with employees.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to  talk, and hear. 

 The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours.

 Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity.

 The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

Prolonged walking, standing and bending, manual dexterity to access the computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, work indoors, with occasional cold or warm temperatures, being exposed to such environmental conditions
Ability to remain seated before a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to the hotel Personal Appearance standards for uniformed / non-uniformed employees
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.


Qualifications and Desirables

Demonstrated analytical ability with strong communication skills.
Project orientation and ability to handle simultaneous functions.
Proven effectiveness working in a demanding, entrepreneurial environment.
Foreign language skills.
Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, self-motivated.
