Position Overview

As a Commis Chef, you are to assist the team in your section to ensure the highest standards of product. You will work closely with the Senior team members to develop your products and skills.

 

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • Participates in food production, portions meats, fish, vegetables and desserts and utilises food surpluses to control food costs
  • Ensures daily food preparations meet outlined recipes including portion size, quantity and quality
  • Maintains food quality control. Ensures proper food rotation, which will eliminate spoilage and waste
  • Communicates with and assists back-of-the-house personnel to maintain efficient food production

Qualifications and Desirables

  • Good understanding of food, hygiene and safety
  • Hotel or restaurant background
  • Good verbal and written English
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Rights to work in the UK
