Position Overview

  • Overall responsibility for the wine and beverage management in conjunction with the Restaurant Head Sommelier
  • To assist the Restaurant Director & Managers in the smooth running of the outlet following the company standards and procedures

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

  • Responsible for beverage sales forecasted for the restaurant are met and strives to meet target cost of sales.
  • Work with the head Sommelier to manage and deliver an effective training and development system for all restaurant wine staffs to ensure that they meet their required standards and develop in their roles
  • Display knowledge of the food menu in order to suggest wines (beverages) accordingly to the guests chosen dishes.
  • Offer a service and use database of guest’s needs and to ensure that this information is used effectively in order to meet their particular expectation
  • To be able to identify when and why decanting a wine is required and to perform decanting of bottles of wine/port correctly in front of the guest in required

Qualifications and Desirables

  • Qualified as sommelier
  • Previous experience in the same position at 5 stars level is highly desirable
  • Immaculate presence
  • Wine and Spirits knowledge
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
